Trek Session - Another Bites the Dust!

My snapped frame

I was riding my Trek up my local woods and hitting up some DH lines and jumps. It was quite a normal day to begin with, until I hit a drop, I did flat land, but I've done that a few times before. I didn't even go that far, my forks didn't even bottom out! How did my beloved bike snap almost clean through on both sides???

My snapped frame

Does anyone know whether this is covered by warranty for my 2010 Trek Session 8? Either that or a new frame £££'s

My snapped frame

This is the drop I snapped my £3000 downhill bike on that's designed to hit anything!???

it snapped from the top down due to the massive forces that part of the frame is put unere when a session bottoms out, the energy simply has nowhere else to go exect straight through these welds. hope that clears things up Smile

It is weird that it snapped top down. How fast do you run you rebound? Those welds on Sessions are renowned for being weak though. Warranty should give you another rear triangle.

Yeah my mate snapped his rear triangle there.

Trek replaced it FOC. He snapped it again. Trek replaced it FOC again. Think you're ok.
